As I was sitting in church this last Sunday I began to think about what our pastor was teaching…what kind of seeds am I sowing for Jesus? I love it when the spring and summer come to the desert and flowers begin to sprout, their perfume filling the air, when the birds begin to dip into our water fountain and drink and splash around and chirp like you can’t believe..sometimes we have quail make their homes in our back yard… they build their nests and Ned and I love to watch them march around the yard with their tiny babies, wobbling around on teeny legs.
New life, new growth..yet I wonder if I am sprouting new growth or just doing the same old thing over and over…do I step out into unknown territory and try something new for the Lord, or for myself? As we get older it is always so much easier to stay safe…even traveling is more of a chore than it used to be..packing, getting ready, stopping the mail, paying bills early, traveling by air or car.
But I know He calls me to do it..to live life to the fullest and tell others about the amazing love Jesus has for us. You would not want to think of any of your family or relatives dying scared and alone..we want to be there for them..we hope loved ones are there for us when our time on earth is over…but what about when they meet our Savior..will He be able to welcome them with open arms, or will He have to turn away sadly, perhaps because we never shared with them our hope in Jesus Christ?
Remember the saying of a great philosopher, “The saddest words of mice or men are those that say, it might have been.” Have a wonderful month, love, Kathy
p.s. How will I ever be willing to die for Jesus if I can’t find resources to live for Him and scatter His seeds of love…reading the Bible, prayer, worship and assembling with other believers are sure tickets to help.
